Does your server store my plaintext content?

Absolutely not. The encryption happens entirely locally in your browser. Our server only receives encrypted gibberish. The decryption key is hidden in the URL Hash (#), which is never sent to the server by design.

What does 'burn-after-read' mean? Can I test it myself?

Accepted Answer

'Burn-after-read' means once the link is successfully opened, the server permanently deletes the data immediately. If you click it to test, the recipient won't be able to view it. Please send it directly after generating.

Question 3

Will the data stay on your server forever if unread?

Accepted Answer

No. You can select an expiration time (e.g., 24 hours, 7 days) when generating the link. If the link is not accessed by then, the system will automatically purge the data.

Will chat apps previews destroy the content?

Accepted Answer

No. While chat apps might try to crawl the webpage for link previews, they cannot access the decryption key in the URL Hash (#). Therefore, they cannot decrypt or trigger the burn-after-read mechanism.

Question 5

I set an access password but forgot it, what should I do?

Accepted Answer

Since we do not store any plaintext data or record your access password, it cannot be recovered if forgotten. You will need to generate a new private note link and send it again.

Question 6

Is there a format limit for shared content? Can I share files?

Accepted Answer

Currently, the tool only supports sharing plain text content (like passwords, API Keys, code snippets, etc.), and does not support direct file uploads.

Question 7

If the note link is intercepted by hackers, can they see the content?

Accepted Answer

As long as the hacker doesn't also have your access password (if you set one), they cannot easily decrypt the content even with the link. Furthermore, if a hacker opens the link before your intended recipient, the burn-after-read mechanism will be triggered. When your recipient tries to open it, they will see a 'content destroyed' message, alerting you that the link may have been compromised.
